New York.- The Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, and the Executive Director of the Civil Defense of the Dominican Republic, Juan Salas, held a high-level meeting at City Hall, where they finalized the details of the memorandum of understanding that will be signed soon between both parties.

The Consul General of the Dominican Republic, Jesús Vásquez Martínez was a witness and promoter supporting this alliance between the city of New York and the Dominican Republic, which will strengthen the bonds of friendship between both communities.

The initiative arises as a follow-up to the commitment expressed by Mayor Adams during his visit to Santo Domingo on April 13th, following the tragedy at the Jet Set nightclub, where he offered institutional and technical support to the Dominican authorities. In that context, Adams reaffirmed his willingness to collaborate with the Dominican Republic, and stated: “Your house is my house,” reflecting the deep bond between New York and the Dominican community.
