Santo Domingo.- Cecilia García will star in the iconic Broadway musical Hello, Dolly! which will be presented for the first time in the country in July, in the Carlos Piantini hall of the National Theater Eduardo Brito, under the general production of Marcos Malespín-Estévez.

This staging not only celebrates the arrival of an international theater classic, but also highlights the excellence of local talent in each of its artistic and technical aspects.

Cecilia García will assume the emblematic role of Dolly Levi, a character that has been played on international stages by figures of the stature of Bette Midler, Barbra Streisand, and Concha Velasco. The choice of Cecilia, a symbol of elegance, powerful voice, and stage presence, promises an unforgettable and nuanced interpretation.

As if that weren't enough, this production is supported by a top-notch creative team. The general direction and dramaturgy are in charge of maestro Carlos Espinal, a reference in national and international theater, whose vast experience and theatrical sensitivity bring depth and vigor to the production. The musical direction will be the responsibility of maestro Dante Cucurullo, a renowned composer and arranger, whose creations have elevated Dominican scenic music to international standards.

"Hello, Dolly! is a musical that brings together everything I love about theater: great emotions, elegant humor, unforgettable music, and a central character full of life. Having the opportunity to stage this play in my country, with such a talented team, is a dream come true. It will be a stage experience that will mark a before and after," expressed Malespín-Estévez. The story of Hello, Dolly! follows Dolly Gallagher Levi, a charismatic matchmaker who decides to find a husband… for herself.
