Washington. - The president of the United States, Donald Trump, assured this Tuesday that the riots that are taking place due to the migratory raids of his Government in Los Angeles, where he has sent thousands of soldiers, seek to "prolong a foreign invasion" of the country.

"What they are witnessing in California is a total attack on peace, public order, and national sovereignty, perpetrated by rioters carrying foreign flags with the aim of prolonging a foreign invasion of our country. We are not going to allow that to happen," Trump said during a rally in Fort Bragg, the largest military base on American soil.

"We will not allow federal agents to be attacked, nor will we allow an American city to be invaded and conquered by a foreign enemy. That's what they are," added the president, stating that it was his predecessor Joe Biden's (2021-2025) administration that "let many of those people in."

Trump criticized the presence of foreign flags at the protests in Los Angeles County (where the Mexican flag and several Central American flags have been especially flown) and stated that he has seen American flags being burned during the riots. "They haven't been burned by people from our country or by people who love our country. Those who burn the American flag should go to jail for a year," Trump said before being answered with cheers from the military at Fort Bragg. The president added that his government is going to try to punish the burning of the national insignia with imprisonment and that they are "working with some senators" to achieve it. Trump again criticized California Governor, Democrat Gavin Newsom, accusing him of not doing anything to ensure safety in Los Angeles. Californian authorities have condemned Trump's decision to deploy 4,000 National Guard soldiers and about 700 marines despite local security forces assuring that the protests were under control and have accused him of wanting to escalate the situation. On Monday, the state of California sued Trump for executing the order, claiming he abused his authority and violated the tenth amendment of the Constitution.
