Colombian woman reports armed robbery by InDrive driver in the Colonial Zone

Santo Domingo.- Colombian citizen Paula Andrea Hernández reported being the victim of an armed robbery on Thursday afternoon, committed by a driver from the platform InDrive identified only as “Xeiter”, while heading to the Colonial Zone. According to what Hernández told the cameras of De Último Minuto, the incident occurred around 3:09 p.m. after boarding a red vehicle, of an unidentified brand, through the transportation application. The young woman indicated that during the journey she was threatened by the driver, who took several belongings from her including an iPhone 15 Pro Max phone, gold jewelry and the sum of 300 dollars. In addition to the robbery, Hernández reported that she was held against her will for approximately four hours inside the vehicle, in the vicinity of Eugenio María de Hostos Park, near the Malecón of Santo Domingo.

The victim stated that she had filed a formal complaint with the judicial authorities and reported that several women have contacted her via social media claiming that "there are several women who have been victims of robbery and even rape, but they have not filed a complaint out of shame". Paula urged transportation platforms to implement stricter controls to verify the identity and background of affiliated drivers.
