New York State is on "high alert" following Trump's announcement of the United States' attack on three nuclear facilities in Iran, according to Governor Kathy Hochul.

"We are not aware of any specific or credible threat to New Yorkers," Hochul stated in a statement. "However, given New York's distinctive global profile, we are taking this situation with utmost seriousness."

"I recognize that this is a moment of fear and uncertainty for New Yorkers. We have some of the largest Jewish and Muslim communities in the United States, and many have loved ones in the region," said Hochul. "As we work to keep New Yorkers safe, we pray for the safety of our American troops, for a rapid de-escalation of this conflict, and for lasting peace in the region." All state agencies, public services, and other critical infrastructure facilities are on high alert for possible disruptions, he added, and the MTA and the Port Authority have activated counterterrorism measures in collaboration with local law enforcement. The New York State Police will continue security patrols around temples and other places at risk, according to Hochul.
