Oneil Cruz ties historical record with 513-foot home run in the 2025 Derby

ATLANTA – Dominican Oneil Cruz not only ignited the Truist Park crowd during the first round of the Home Run Derby 2025, but also made history. The slugger for the Pittsburgh Pirates hit a tremendous shot of 513 feet, tying the record for the longest home run in Derby history outside of Coors Field, since Statcast began recording data in 2016.

With that blast, Cruz tied the 2017 Aaron Judge, who achieved the same distance at loanDepot park in Miami. Cruz's hit became the longest of any recent edition outside of Denver's altitude, and surpassed by 40 feet the longest home run of the 2024 Derby, which was 473 feet, courtesy of the also Dominican Marcell Ozuna.
