Sports Writing - Dominican Bayron Matos, offensive lineman for the Miami Dolphins of the NFL, was discharged this Tuesday from the hospital to which he was taken by helicopter last week due to an injury he suffered during the team's training.

Last Wednesday, towards the end of the Dolphins' practice, Matos lay on the field after a collision with a teammate. He was immediately surrounded by his colleagues while the medics attended to him for more than 10 minutes, until he was stabilized to be transferred by helicopter to the hospital. One day later, Jhoancy Zapata, from Z-Axis Sports Marketing, the agency representing the 24-year-old player, reported that Matos had regained mobility in his limbs. "We are relieved and grateful to report that he has regained mobility in all his limbs and is stable. He will remain under the care of medical professionals for continuous observation and recovery," explained the representative. A piece of news that Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel immediately reacted to. "It was a very difficult moment for any team. We were very excited to know that he has feeling and movement in all his limbs. He is improving more and more and that's what we are focused on," McDaniel said. Bayron Matos is a product of the 'International Player Pathway 2024', an NFL program that seeks talent outside the United States with the possibility of earning a place in the league. He was signed by Miami on April 28, 2024, as an undrafted rookie, after not being selected in the Draft. Last year he was part of the Dolphins practice squad, a franchise where he is looking to earn a place on the 53-player roster that will face the 2025 NFL season, something that has been complicated by this injury for which the team, which confirmed his discharge from the hospital, has not established a recovery time. The Miami Dolphins will kick off their preseason games on August 10 with a visit to the Chicago Bears; on the 16th they will travel to face the Detroit Lions and will close on the 23rd, when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars. They will debut in the regular season on September 7 at the Indianapolis Colts. EFE
