Raquel Peña and Ricardo de los Santos deliver important works in Sánchez Ramírez

Sánchez Ramírez. - Senator for the province of Sánchez Ramírez, Ricardo de los Santos, and Vice President Raquel Peña led the delivery of several works in the province of Sánchez Ramírez, as a demonstration of the central government's commitment to respond to the needs of its citizens.

Initially, Senator De los Santos, along with the Vice President of the Republic and other provincial authorities, delivered the asphalt paving of several sections of the communities of Villa La Mata, Hernando Alonso, Las Canas, and Los Corozos. Subsequently, they inaugurated the Diabetic Foot and Oncology Unit of the Inmaculada Concepción Hospital, in Cotuí, with the purpose of providing the region with a specialized area in diabetes and oncology to provide care for the health needs of patients with these conditions, and to prevent them from having to travel to Santo Domingo to receive these treatments.

This activity also included the presence of Mario Lama, director of the National Health Service, the provincial governor Cristiana Rodríguez del Alba, the national treasurer, Luis Rafael Delgado, representatives of the Health sector of the province, as well as other special guests. During the inauguration of the asphalting of the streets of the municipal district Villa La Mata, Senator Ricardo de los Santos highlighted the great work being done by the government headed by President Luis Abinader, “I urge the opposition to review before criticizing the work of a government that has been characterized by ethics, transparency and efficiency, because the people see what is being done, observe the work of President Abinader, who is a man who dedicates himself to working 18 to 20 hours a day”. Senator De los Santos referred to the large number of works that the government has delivered to his community. He mentioned, among these, the facilities and renovation of the wastewater treatment plant and the Fantino sewer system, which had been out of service for 35 years. He highlighted the investment made in education, which has expanded the extended school day service, school breakfast, and transportation; in addition, the contributions made in health with the expansion of medical care and new medical service units. Ricardo de los Santos acknowledged that the government is making great efforts to fulfill its commitments to society, and assured that in the coming months, the community of Cotuí will be receiving the extension of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), the headquarters of the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLAS), as well as the paving of the main road of the province, a cemetery in Villas Las Matas and the completion of three study centers for the primary and intermediate levels. During the day, Senator Ricardo de los Santos and the Vice President held a meeting with more than 300 young students from the province, with whom they discussed the challenges of youth and the opportunities offered by the government regarding job placement and national development.


The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Universidad Tecnológica del Cibao Oriental, UTECO, and was attended by the rector Marilyn Díaz, and other authorities of the educational entity and the province.
