Santo Domingo. - According to information released by weather forecaster Jean Suriel, the extreme heat in the Dominican Republic will extend for seven more weeks, with very high temperatures throughout the country: the content of humidity that is arriving from the Caribbean Sea is very abundant, which increases the feeling of heat.

This weekend will be very hot in the Dominican Republic and with the potential for rainy periods, due to the combination of tropical wave number 33, a trough to the northeast of the Caribbean, humid winds, and the advance of summer.

This afternoon, some showers could be recorded in the northeast, north, Cordillera Central, northwest and south; while at night, some showers could remain due to the effects of the tropical wave.

For tomorrow, Saturday, an increase in rainfall is expected from midday, due to the extreme heat activating the effects of the trough and the tropical wave: also, in the afternoon, electrical discharges and wind gusts could develop, mainly towards the Cibao region.

On Sunday, the chances of cloudiness and moderate rainfall will continue to be high: it will be in the afternoon when the heaviest showers with electrical discharges occur. Likewise, on Monday we will have the permanence of the trough and the remnants of the tropical wave contributing more rain in the afternoon.
