Santo Domingo. – The Economic and Social Council (CES) delivered this Tuesday to President Luis Abinader the Final Consolidated Report of the Dialogue for the Haitian Crisis, a document that includes 151 proposals and 26 lines of action arising from six thematic tables with the participation of social, business, labor and civil society sectors.
The act took place at the National Palace, led by the president of the CES, Rafael Toribio, who presented the physical and digital version of the report to the president. Abinader valued the concertation effort and highlighted the commitment of the national sectors in the search for responsible solutions to the challenges posed by the situation in Haiti.

In his speech, Toribio highlighted that the document is the result of a "plural, democratic, and strategic" process that addressed issues of migration, bilateral trade, border communities, security, international relations, and labor matters. As part of the socialization agenda, the CES will deliver the report to former presidents Danilo Medina, Hipólito Mejía, and Leonel Fernández in meetings scheduled between September 10 and 16. The content will be officially published after these deliveries are completed. The activity was attended by the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza; the Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful; the Minister of Defense, Carlos Fernández Onofre, as well as union, business, and social sector representatives. With this delivery, the CES reaffirms its role as an institutionalized space to promote consensus and governance in the face of one of the main challenges of foreign policy and national security of the Dominican Republic.
