Tourism and Air Caraibes announce new route to Samaná from Paris

Paris. – The French airline Air Caraïbes announced the opening of two weekly direct flights from Paris to Samaná, thus adding a total of 12 weekly operations to the main tourist destinations of the Dominican Republic: Santo Domingo, Punta Cana and now also the Samaná peninsula. The announcement was made by the president of Air Caraïbes, Marc Rochet, along with the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, during the IFTM Top Resa international fair, held in Paris. Minister Collado highlighted that the incorporation of the Paris–Samaná route, arriving at El Catey International Airport (AZS), constitutes a strategic step to strengthen the flow of French visitors to that region, recognized for its natural richness and its world-class tourist attraction. He also announced that in December of this year or, at the latest, in January 2026, a new flight will be added on the Punta Cana–Paris route, which will allow a total of eight weekly operations from that destination to be reached. For his part, Marc Rochet emphasized Air Caraïbes' commitment to consolidating air connectivity between France and the Dominican Republic, by announcing that for the winter season 2025-2026 the airline will reach a total of 12 weekly flights. These will be distributed as follows: Paris-Orly – Samaná (AZS): two weekly flights starting December 15 (Monday and Saturday). Paris-Orly – Punta Cana (PUJ): seven weekly flights, with daily service from December 12. Paris-Orly – Santo Domingo (SDQ): three weekly flights. With this increase in frequencies, Air Caraïbes consolidates the Dominican Republic as one of its strategic destinations in the Caribbean, expanding opportunities for tourism and reaffirming confidence in the Dominican market. Already present in Punta Cana and Santo Domingo, the company becomes the only French airline to offer such complete coverage of the Dominican Republic. With this third stop, Air Caraïbes offers its passengers the opportunity to discover all facets of this unique destination: culture, paradisiacal beaches and preserved nature. The minister emphasized that the French market is one of the most important for the country, generating income of more than 161 million dollars in foreign currency, which directly contributes to exchange rate stability and economic development. He explained that this flow represents about 15 thousand jobs and a contribution of close to 16 billion pesos to the Gross Domestic Product.

He also highlighted that French tourists visiting the country stay for an average of 11 days, making this market a high-value segment. "Our goal is to recover the levels of 220 to 225 thousand visitors that we had in previous years. With this alliance with Air Caraïbes we are sure that in 2026 we will reach 250 thousand French tourists," projected Collado. Finally, he reiterated his gratitude to Marc Rochet and the Air Caraïbes team for their trust in the Dominican Republic and for the decision to expand their air operations to the country.
