Santo Domingo. – Pedro Francisco Bonó station of Line 2 of the Santo Domingo Metro returned to normal operation last night, after being closed following the accident that occurred on Friday night, when a bus hit the main access facade.

This Sunday morning, it was possible to verify that the main entrance of the station remains fenced with yellow security tapes and orange cones, as a sign of prevention. The rest of the concrete blocks that remained after the impact are observed.

The flow of passengers is proceeding normally at the enabled access. The glass facade shows visible signs of the damage suffered, although the operation inside continues without setbacks.

Although the service is fully restored, OPRET specified that the restoration work on the station's facade will be carried out at night, without interrupting the operation of the trains or the flow of passengers. The commitment, they assure, is to return the station to its original state in the shortest possible time.

A collaborator of the institution was injured in the accident, who is stable and receiving medical attention, according to the entity.

The Office for Transportation Reordering (OPRET) reported that, in less than 24 hours, brigades worked on the demolition of the affected area to guarantee the safety of users and allow the resumption of service at that important terminal.
