Journalist Olga Capellán calls Minister Ito Bisonó's management historic.

Santo Domingo. - The renowned journalist and community leader of the Dominican diaspora in Europe, Olga Capellán, described as "historic" the management of the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes, Víctor Orlando Bisonó Haza, after the recognition granted by the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo for his contribution to the academic and operational strengthening of the institution. Capellán, who directs the digital newspaper Prensa y Gente, published an article in his media outlet where he highlighted that President Luis Abinader "had a clinical eye in choosing him as Minister of Industry and Commerce", noting that he is "the most exquisite fragrance among all the officials in his presidential cabinet". During the management of Ito Bisonó, the country has achieved significant progress, breaking records in foreign investment, exports, free zones, formal jobs, and the fight against illicit trade.

The long-time journalist residing in Barcelona considers him one of the most finished politicians in the country with a vision for the future, both in the political and professional fields. The recognition took place in the University Council Hall of the UASD, where the rector Editrudis Beltrán Crisóstomo expressed that the university has received significant support from the government headed by Abinader, as well as from the ministers and directors of government institutions. Beltrán Crisóstomo highlighted that Bisonó has been a strategic ally since his time as a deputy, collaborating on initiatives that have energized fundamental areas of the institution, including innovation, production, and improvement of university services projects.

Concrete contributions to the academy

Among the most significant contributions of the minister to the Primada de América is the promotion of the School of Bakery and Pastry, where thousands of breads and desserts are produced daily, in addition to providing practical training to students in various culinary areas. The rector also announced during the event the opening of a university pizzeria and a water processing and purification plant, intended to guarantee supply to the Chemistry laboratories and the Institute of Microbiology and Parasitology. Bisonó listed other contributions made to the university, including biometric microscopes to the Institute of Criminology of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences, used for the equipment of the ballistics laboratory, unique in the country at the time. He also promoted, from the Center for Analysis for Public Policies, opportunities for young people from UASD to train in research and have contact with international organizations. Upon receiving the distinction, the minister stated that this recognition has a special meaning due to his family connection with UASD, detailing that his parents dedicated a large part of their lives to the institution. "For me, UASD has never been a distant institution, it has always been a benchmark of effort, social mobility, and national identity," he pointed out.
