Santo Domingo.- Lawyer Ingrid Hidalgo, legal representative of Cinty Acosta, implicated in the so-called Cobra Case, assured that her client was a victim of extortion by the then director Santiago Hazim Albainy, demanding the delivery of 30% of her contract.

Hidalfo reported that Acosta was not part of any criminal network in the National Health Insurance.

The jurist emphasized that Acosta has not reached any agreement with the Public Prosecutor's Office nor has admitted guilt in the process, as some media outlets have pointed out. "My client has neither negotiated nor accepted any responsibility. On the contrary, she has been a person affected by undue pressure," the lawyer maintained. Likewise, he explained that Cinty Acosta fulfilled her part of the contract in full, following due process and complying with each requirement established. In that sense, he affirmed that the defense has more than 400 meters of evidence that demonstrate that each elderly person was given exactly what they were entitled to "with IDs, signatures and ID cards". "The documentation, records, and testimonies show that there was no harm to the beneficiaries and that the commitments made were fulfilled as agreed," Hidalgo concluded.
