Congressman proposes incentives for specialist doctors in the border zone

Santo Domingo.– Congressman Juan Bolívar Cuevas Davis took the floor for a second time to present a bill aimed at establishing incentives for specialist doctors, with the aim of promoting their professional practice in public health centers in the provinces that make up the border zone.

During his intervention, the legislator highlighted that, without real incentives to attract these professionals, the most vulnerable sectors of the population will continue to be the most affected, due to the limitations of access to health services and economic resources.

Cuevas Davis reported that the project has already been approved in two readings in the chamber and thanked the support of his colleagues. He expressed his confidence that, upon the conclusion of the present legislature, the initiative will be approved in a second reading and subsequently debated in depth in the Senate of the Republic during the next legislature.

The deputy emphasized the importance of this proposal, pointing out that many people cannot afford private medical consultations whose prices range from 3,000 to 4,000 pesos, which makes it essential to strengthen the public health system.

Finally, he explained that the implementation of these incentives would ensure the presence of specialists in critical areas and facilitate the reopening of hospital services that are currently closed due to a lack of qualified personnel, so he urged his colleagues to vote in favor of the project.
