Buenos Aires.- The Ministry of Health of Argentina detected the first three cases of the influenza A H3N2 virus in the country, according to a statement released by the National Administration of Laboratories and Health Institutes (ANLIS).

Two teenagers in the province of Santa Cruz, in southern Argentina, and a child in the city of Buenos Aires are facing this pathology without major health complications. All were diagnosed with the K variant, which presents "genetic changes associated with greater transmissibility", although it does not indicate greater clinical severity at the moment, according to the report of the national government.

"The integrated surveillance of influenza and other respiratory viruses shows that viral circulation in the country remains within the expected values for this time of year," highlighted the ANLIS statement. According to public statements by the Minister of Health of the province of Buenos Aires, the infected child "went through the disease without complications during the two days he remained hospitalized for observation and on October 7th the sample was sent to the Malbran Institute (a reference institution in Argentina on viral diseases), whose results were known today."
