Santo Domingo.-During a tour conducted on Tuesday afternoon through the streets between Pedro Livio Cedeño and Ortega y Gasset avenues, several community members shared their impressions of the year ending and their expectations for 2026.
The citizens were asked the question: “On this Christmas Eve, how did this year that is ending go for you and what do you expect for yourself and your family in the coming year?” Faced with the question, Esmeralda Encarnación expressed her hope that many good things will come and stated the need for a greater closeness to God, pointing out that it is important to "see Christ because we are lost." Juan described the current situation as very difficult, highlighting the high cost of living and the complicated conditions of the streets, although he trusts that the outlook may improve. Yadihra called for prudence during these festivities, wishing that people take care of themselves, that there be no wars, and that God grant health to all. Domingo, for his part, expressed his wish that the year ends in peace, without accidents and in family unity. The opinions gathered reflect the feeling of the community in these days before Christmas Eve, marked by challenges, but also by the hope and optimism of a more promising future.By Yerandi santana
