Moscow.- Russia showed this Monday disappointment with the policies of the American president Donald Trump, for withdrawing his proposals in relation to Ukraine made in the meeting in Alaska and not removing the sanctions to Moscow, although it celebrates "the understandings reached".

«In Anchorage (Alaska), we accept the proposal of United States (…), in addition to the fact that they supposedly made an offer regarding Ukraine, and we were prepared -now they are not-, and we also do not see a promising future in the economic field», said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in an interview for TV BRICS.

Maintaining Sanctions

The head of Russian diplomacy compared the Trump administration to that of its predecessor, Joe Biden (2021-2025), for not removing the sanctions imposed on Russia as a result of the war in Ukraine.

«Despite all the statements by the Trump administration about the need to end the war that Biden unleashed in Ukraine, reach an agreement, remove it from the agenda and, supposedly, open clear and promising prospects for Russian-American investment and cooperation, it does not challenge the laws that Biden passed to punish Russia after the start of the war in Ukraine» he pointed out.
