Santo Domingo.- The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Álvarez, stated that the closure of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) office is due to an internal investigation by the United States Embassy, according to a post on the social network X.
Álvarez pointed out that the measure responds to internal motivations and that "it has no categorical relationship whatsoever with the Government or with any Dominican official", after a call he held with the U.S. ambassador, Leah Francis Campos.
This clarification arises after a publication by the US consulate informing the closure of offices in Santo Domingo until further notice.
