Santo Domingo.– The National Forecast Center of the INDOMET reported that, due to the incidence of a trough at various levels of the troposphere, in combination with the humidity transported by the east/southeast wind, cloudiness accompanied by moderate to heavy showers, possible thunderstorms and wind gusts continue to be observed in several provinces of the country.

The provinces under weather alert are: Espaillat, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Puerto Plata and Hermanas Mirabal, due to the risk of urban flooding and sudden rises in rivers, streams and ravines.

It is expected that the rainfall will extend overnight and into the early morning hours to nearby locations, including Santiago, La Vega, Samaná, Puerto Plata, Valverde, San Juan, Santiago Rodríguez and Pedernales, as well as the Caribbean coast in sectors such as San Pedro de Macorís, San Cristóbal, Santo Domingo and Barahona.
