Anti-corruption summit to bring together delegations from nearly 40 countries in Peru

Lima.- Nearly forty delegations from auditing entities from various countries around the world will participate next Thursday, February 19 and Friday, February 20 in Lima in the International Summit on the Fight against Corruption, as announced in a statement by the Comptroller General (Court of Auditors) of Peru, host of this meeting.

The meeting, organized by the Specialized Technical Commission on the Fight against Transnational Corruption of the Latin American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (Olacefs), seeks to provide a technical space for dialogue and exchange of experiences regarding instruments, strategies, and actions.

The Comptroller's Office of Peru anticipates that "its results will contribute to strengthening integrity policies and consolidating joint efforts in the fight against corruption and functional misconduct."

In the first day, issues such as 'Global anti-corruption policies and the strategic role of oversight entities in the fight against transnational corruption' and "From traditional control to intelligent control: data and technology at the service of the fight against transnational corruption" will be addressed.

Other topics that will be addressed will be 'Corruption risks in transnational acquisitions and infrastructure projects' and 'Integrity and Compliance in the public sector: strengthening internal control and citizen trust'. Among the international participants are Walter Salvador Sosa Funes, presiding magistrate of the Court of Accounts of El Salvador; Lubomir Andrassy, president of the Supreme Audit Office of Slovakia; and Olivier Inizan, deputy regional representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). P. Garswa Jackson, Auditor General of the Republic of Liberia; Andreea Motoc, Head of Unit of the Court of Auditors of Romania; and Andrea Calvarusso, Director of the Guatemala Multi-Country Office of the United Nations Office for Project Services (Unops), among others, will also participate.
