Cucurella felt discomfort last Tuesday during the 2-2 draw against Leeds United and was substituted at halftime. After undergoing medical tests this Thursday, the muscle ailment was confirmed, which prevented him from participating in Chelsea's victory against Hull City (0-4) in the FA Cup. The coach of the London team, Liam Rosenior, explained after the match that the player has "a hamstring problem", although he initially avoided specifying the estimated recovery time.

Key piece in the scheme

The Catalan defender has been a regular this season, accumulating 35 official matches and establishing himself as one of the important players in the team. In addition, he is a regular in the calls of the Spanish national team led by Luis de la Fuente. If he meets the deadlines, Cucurella could be available for the Finalissima that Spain will play against Argentina on March 27 at the Lusail stadium in Qatar, as well as for the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada that will begin in June. Chelsea's medical staff will continue to assess his progress in the coming weeks with the aim of the player returning in optimal condition for the final stretch of the season.
