Suspenden por un año a tres abogados por violaciones al Código de Ética

Santo Domingo.- El jurista Dionisio Ortiz Acosta informó que el Tribunal Disciplinario del Colegio de Abogados de la República Dominicana emitió la sentencia TDH-014-2026, mediante la cual ordenó la suspensión por un año del ejercicio profesional a tres abogados vinculados a la señora María Amelia Hazoury.

De acuerdo con la resolución, los profesionales Lilia María Fernández León, Mariel María León Lebrón y Joel del Rosario Alburquerque, miembros de la firma León & Raful, fueron encontrados responsables de incurrir en prácticas procesales temerarias y contrarias al debido proceso.

El Tribunal estableció que estas acciones constituyen faltas al Código de Ética del Abogado, por lo que se procedió a imponer la sanción disciplinaria conforme a las normas que regulan el ejercicio del derecho en el país.

Asimismo, se indicó que las conductas observadas durante los procesos judiciales afectaron el normal desarrollo de los mismos, generando dilaciones innecesarias y actuaciones alejadas de los principios de lealtad procesal y buena fe que deben regir el ejercicio de la abogacía.

En ese sentido, el órgano disciplinario reiteró que los profesionales del derecho están llamados a actuar con responsabilidad, respeto a la ley y apego a las normas éticas, ya que su rol resulta fundamental para garantizar una justicia equitativa y transparente.

La medida, según se destacó, refuerza el compromiso del gremio con el cumplimiento de los principios éticos y la defensa de una justicia transparente, marcando una posición firme frente a conductas que afecten la integridad del sistema judicial dominicano.

Finalmente, se recordó que este tipo de sanciones buscan no solo castigar las faltas cometidas, sino también prevenir futuras irregularidades dentro del ejercicio profesional, enviando un mensaje claro sobre la importancia de mantener la ética como pilar esencial del sistema de justicia en la República Dominicana.
