Washington.- The White House officially presented this Wednesday the plans of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to build a large triumphal arch in Washington on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the country's independence, which is commemorated this year.
In her weekly press conference, White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt showed a rendered image of the project, which will be 250 feet tall (76.2 meters) for each of the 250 years of the United States, crowned by a winged victory figure and flanked at its base by golden lions.
"In honor of this historic occasion, President Trump and the Department of the Interior will unveil plans for the United States Arch of Triumph, which will be an architectural masterpiece destined to celebrate our history, right here in Washington," he declared.

The arch will be erected in a roundabout known as Memorial Circle, at one of the entrances to the city, between the Abraham Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery, the country's main military pantheon.
