President Luis Abinader informed that the Government continues to hold meetings with the productive sectors with the aim of reaching agreements and consensus to mitigate the impact of the international crisis on the prices of essential goods, especially those related to hydrocarbons and their derivatives.

During the meeting with representatives from various industrial and commercial sectors, federations, and business owners, the president announced that, regarding fuels, the Government will maintain prices unchanged for the current week. "We inform that this week there will be no increase, but rather the fuel price levels from last week will continue," he stated.

The ruler announced that these working tables will continue to be developed periodically, indicating that the next meeting is scheduled to take place in approximately two weeks.

"Today we continue with the meetings we have with the productive sectors in order to reach agreements and consensus in relation to the international crisis that, as you know, we have, especially in hydrocarbons and by-products. We are then discussing how we can, as we have done before, mitigate so that not everything is passed on to the population and especially protect the vulnerable population of our country," said the president.

President Abinader highlighted that the meeting was productive and allowed for the definition of new actions, including the holding of bilateral meetings with specific sectors where price increases have been recorded, in order to evaluate mechanisms for their control.

The meeting was held with the aim of continuing the actions aimed at guaranteeing the stability of prices of basic foods, products and services, in the face of the prolongation of the international crisis that impacts the prices of oil and its derivatives.

The President was accompanied by the Ministers of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza; Administrative of the Presidency, Andrés Bautista and of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón.
