Samaná. - The Municipal District of El Limón, in the province of Samaná, continues without electricity service since the night of last Wednesday, a situation that keeps residents and merchants in the area worried and uncomfortable. The distribution companies El Progreso del Limón and Luz y Fuerza de Las Terrenas have issued public statements in which both disclaim responsibility for the power outage, generating confusion among service users. According to reports, the energy distributed in El Limón passes through the lines of Luz y Fuerza de Las Terrenas, through an interconnection point located in the community of La Barbacoa. In that sense, El Progreso del Limón assures that said company installed at that point equipment that allows suspending the electrical supply to its coverage area, holding it directly responsible for the blackouts. For its part, Luz y Fuerza de Las Terrenas maintains that the interruption of service is due to failures in the lines belonging to El Progreso del Limón, thus rejecting any responsibility for the incident.

During the night of Wednesday, a public notary, along with press personnel and technicians from Luz y Fuerza, conducted tests at the interconnection point. After the evaluations, they indicated that the problem does not correspond to their lines or their transmission system. Meanwhile, the blackout persists and the community begins to express its discontent, increasing the claims for the lack of electricity. Merchants and residents have requested the intervention of the Superintendency of Electricity, with the aim of investigating the situation and achieving an immediate solution. Users insist that they are the main ones affected by this conflict between both companies and hope that in the coming hours a dialogue will take place to restore the electrical service in El Limón.
