Caracas.- More than 5,000 Venezuelan migrants returned to their country during the first hundred days of the government of Delcy Rodríguez, who assumed as acting president after the capture of Nicolás Maduro on January 3 by the United States, according to official figures released this Friday.
«This logistical and human deployment guarantees the safe and free transfer of nationals, reaffirming the commitment of the Venezuelan State to the protection of its people beyond borders», expressed the Ministry of Communication.
Also, he indicated that the Great Homeland Return Mission, a government program that facilitates and manages the return of Venezuelans, remains "active as a direct response to the needs of those who, after facing situations of xenophobia and vulnerability abroad, decide to return to their homeland". The ministry added that next Sunday begins the "pilgrimage for peace" called by Rodriguez to demand an end to the sanctions, which, according to the Venezuelan government, will "optimize the resources of social missions", such as Vuelta a la Patria, and "enhance the socio-productive protection of the nation".
