Two Colombian women were injured in the middle of a shooting at the Teotihuacan Pyramids, in Mexico

An armed attack shook on Monday, April 20, one of the most emblematic sites in Mexico. This is the Pyramids of Teotihuacan, in the State of Mexico, a place that became the scene of panic after a shooting that left two people dead and several more injured, including two Colombian women. The event occurred around noon, when visitors were touring the Pyramid of the Moon and witnesses reported hearing about 20 detonations, then the authorities confirmed that the aggressor fired from the top of the structure and took his own life. Violence triggered an urgent evacuation at the archaeological complex, while emergency teams entered to assist those affected. Initial reports indicate that four people suffered gunshot wounds.

Two others were injured after falling from the pyramid during the escape attempt: the local health system reported that it attended to seven people, including a minor. Among the cases are fractures, sprains, and an anxiety crisis. For his part, it was the Secretary of State Security of Mexico, Cristóbal Castañeda Camarillo, who specified that the people injured by gunshots are foreign women: two Colombians, a Russian and a Canadian
