DATE 2026 starts this Wednesday with more than 100 companies

The Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE) 2026, organized by the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (Asonahores), will take place this week from April 22nd to 24th, consolidating itself as the main tourism business event in the country and one of the most relevant in the Caribbean, with the participation of hundreds of companies and institutions that make up the entire value chain of the sector. The meeting brings together key players from the public and private sectors, including banking, hotels, airlines, tour operators, and suppliers, demonstrating the high level of trust and support for this platform that drives the international projection of the Dominican Republic destination. Among the participating entities are the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, as well as financial institutions such as Banco Popular Dominicano, Banreservas and Banco BHD, which have historically played a strategic role in financing tourism development. The hotel sector, the main driver of the event, has a wide representation of internationally recognized chains such as Meliá Hotels International, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Barceló Hotel Group, Lopesan Hotel Group, Princess Hotels & Resorts, Viva Resorts and Catalonia Hotels & Resorts, among others. This offer is complemented by urban and niche hotels such as Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, reflecting the diversity of the Dominican Republic's tourism proposal. In the air connectivity and international marketing component, airlines such as Arajet, Sky High Aviation Services, Sunrise Airways, and InterCaribbean Airways participate, as well as tour operators and agencies that strengthen the arrival of visitors to the country.

This ecosystem turns DATE into a true business hub, where commercial agreements are made that directly impact the flow of tourism to the nation.

The event also integrates companies from the sector's operational machinery, along with associations such as Asonahores, ASOLESTE and AHETSA, as well as training entities such as the National Institute for Technical Professional Training, reinforcing its institutional dimension. The participation of more than 100 companies in DATE 2026 reflects not only the magnitude of the event, but also the evolution of Dominican tourism towards an increasingly integrated, competitive, and constantly expanding model.
