Abinader and Costa Rican president-elect discuss trade and regional cooperation

Costa Rica.– President Luis Abinader held a meeting this Thursday with the president-elect of Costa Rica, Laura Fernández Delgado, in which they discussed issues related to the strengthening of bilateral relations, regional cooperation, and trade between both nations.

The meeting took place at the Costa Rican Museum of Art, where both leaders highlighted the importance of maintaining a joint agenda focused on economic growth, regional integration, and the defense of democratic values. During the meeting, Fernández Delgado expressed his interest in continuing to strengthen diplomatic and commercial ties with the Dominican Republic, as well as expanding cooperation in strategic areas for both nations. Likewise, the elected president expressed her willingness to maintain coordination with the Dominican Government in multilateral spaces and to continue regional cooperation initiatives. For his part, Abinader reaffirmed the Dominican Republic's willingness to continue promoting relations of understanding and collaboration with Costa Rica, highlighting the importance of permanent dialogue between the countries of the region. The Dominican president also valued the need to strengthen joint mechanisms to expand economic development opportunities and consolidate regional alliances.

In the meeting participated, for the Dominican delegation, Chancellor Roberto Álvarez and Ambassador María Amelia Marranzini Grullón. While the future Foreign Minister Manuel Tovar Rivera, the future Minister of Foreign Trade Indiana Trejos Gallo, and the next Head of the Presidential Office Alexander Estévez Astorga were present for Costa Rica.
