National Police and Public Ministry raid La Vega; seize illegally carried firearm

La Vega, R.D.– Members of the Regional Intelligence Sub-Directorate (DINTEL) of the National Police, in coordination with the Public Ministry and agents of the Preventive Police, carried out a raid in the El Pinito Sabaneta sector, La Vega municipality, where they seized an illegally carried firearm. The intervention was carried out by means of search warrant No. 2026-AJ0040296, executed in a residence located in the aforementioned sector, where the authorities seized a Carandai brand pistol, 9-millimeter caliber, Trabzon model, black color, with its magazine, six cartridges and a black cloth holster. During the operation, Eddys Fermín Holguín Rodríguez, 66 years old, was arrested, who, according to the preliminary report, is attributed with the possession of the seized weapon.

Both the detainee and the seized evidence remain under the control of the authorities for the corresponding legal purposes. The National Police continues to strengthen preventive and investigative actions in the province of La Vega.
