Polytechnic students will be able to obtain dual degrees through the INFOTEP-MINERD alliance

The National Institute for Technical and Vocational Training (INFOTEP) and the Ministry of Education (MINERD) continue to strengthen their strategic alliance to allow students from polytechnics and participants in the Prepara program to graduate with dual qualifications. As part of the inter-institutional agreements, the Metropolitan Regional Directorate of INFOTEP and Regional 15 of Education held a coordination meeting focused on advancing the implementation of training programs aimed at young people in the final stage of technical high school and young adults integrated into the Prepara educational program. During the day, the authorities socialized the scope of the agreement and defined the necessary actions to guarantee the effective development of the initiative starting next school year.

Among the topics addressed are the selection of participants, the suitability of the academic and technical offer, the planning of the work schedule and the articulation between educational centers and INFOTEP. The initiative seeks to strengthen the technical and professional training of students, expanding their opportunities for insertion into the labor market through academic and occupational certifications obtained simultaneously. Representatives from both institutions highlighted the importance of this coordination to promote an education more linked to the productive needs of the country and offer greater development tools to young Dominicans.
