DIGESETT joins the international IBERVIAPOL network to strengthen road safety

Santo Domingo.- The General Directorate of Traffic and Ground Transportation Safety (DIGESETT) reported its incorporation into the traffic police network IBERVIAPOL, an initiative that brings together countries from Latin America and Europe with the aim of strengthening international cooperation in road safety and traffic management. The inclusion of the Dominican institution is carried out as part of the modernization and institutional strengthening strategies promoted by DIGESETT, in coordination with the International Cooperation department. This network seeks to promote the exchange of information, the development of joint protocols, the implementation of interoperable technological tools, and the execution of regional campaigns aimed at reducing road accidents.

The actions are framed within the “First Technical Meeting on Planning and Execution of the IBERVIAPOL traffic police network”, organized by the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard (ATGC), with the participation of the director of DIGESETT, General Pascual Cruz Méndez, P.N.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that this integration will allow to expand access to specialized training programs, as well as the exchange of good practices and the adoption of new technologies applied to road safety.

Likewise, General Cruz Méndez participated in the closing ceremony of the VIII Master's Degree in Road Safety and Traffic, where Colonel Leuribis A. Mancebo, regional director north of DIGESETT, graduated in Spain, reaffirming the institutional commitment to continuous training and the professionalization of operational personnel. In the IBERVIAPOL network, transit organizations from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Spain, Panama, Peru, Portugal, and Uruguay also participate, promoting a joint vision towards safer, more sustainable, and more humane mobility.
