Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader will visit former ruler Danilo Medina tomorrow at the presidential house of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), within the framework of the commitments made during the meeting with former presidents at the Ministry of Defense to address the Haitian crisis.

Abinader has reiterated his conviction that the defense of national sovereignty and the management of the impact of the situation in Haiti require a State position, built on the basis of consensus, accumulated experience, and respectful dialogue between the main political forces of the country. As part of this initiative, a meeting with former President Leonel Fernández is planned for next week, on a date that will be announced in due course, the information added. The Economic and Social Council (CES) enabled on Monday the six thematic tables of the "Dialogue on the Haitian crisis and its implications for the Dominican Republic", agreed by Abinader, Medina, Fernandez and with Hipolito Mejía. The CES launched the six discussion topics: migration; bilateral trade; development of border communities; national security; international relations and labor issues.
