Monseñor Nouel.- During a visit to the industrial park of Bonao, in the province of Monseñor Nouel, the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, assured that the border remains in complete normality, discarding any type of setback or alteration in daily activities.
"We have no inconvenience or setback, all the commercial dynamics remain intact," expressed Fernández Onofre. "The homeland is safe in the hands of the Armed Forces and security agencies," he added. Likewise, he reiterated that the Dominican Armed Forces guarantee the security, peace and tranquility of the entire Dominican family throughout the national territory.Construction of the Border Wall

In that context, he announced that on June 20th, in the morning, the second stage of the wall will begin, which will cover about 13 kilometers from the community of La Sal, in Dajabón, to the municipality of Capotillo, on the northern part of the border. These statements were offered as part of the minister's official agenda in Bonao, where he inspected facilities and held meetings with local authorities and representatives of the industrial sector.
