Santo Domingo.- The Chamber of Deputies approved this Tuesday in second reading the bill that establishes a financial, educational and professional incentive for specialist doctors who practice in the border provinces.
The project seeks to encourage the permanence of those doctors in the provinces of Pedernales, Independencia, Elías Piña, Dajabón, Montecristi, Santiago Rodríguez and Bahoruco, in order to improve access to quality health services for their inhabitants.

The initiative, which now goes to the Senate of the Republic for study, includes as incentives for doctors: earning an additional salary to the base salary established for specialist doctors, aimed at those who commit to working in the border area for a minimum of three years. Likewise, grant an annual vacation bonus equivalent to 50% of their base salary; exemption from income tax and other applicable taxes during the period of service in the border zone, the hemicircle said in a note. The deputies turned into Law, by accepting the modifications made by the Senate, the project that changes the name of the East Tourist Boulevard to the name of Frank Rainieri Marranzini Tourist Boulevard. Lawmakers also approved on second reading, with modifications, the bill that designates the new trauma hospital Taiwan March 19, of the province of Azua, with the name of Doctor Rafael Augusto Cuello Brito. The deputies also ratified the resolution approving the agreement between the Government of the Dominican Republic and that of the United Arab Emirates, for air services between and beyond their respective territories, signed in Dubai on November 3, 2014. The resolution approving the agreement on the creation of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), signed in New Delhi, India, on September 13, 2022, was also ratified by the deputies.
