Santo Domingo.– Jean Andrés Pumarol, identified as the perpetrator of a brutal knife attack in a residential area of the Naco sector, not only took the life of Ivonne Handal Abugabil, but also allegedly killed the victim's pet during the violent episode.

According to Fabián, upon opening the apartment door, he came face to face with Pumarol, who was carrying two knives. He indicated that he was immediately attacked without warning, but managed to escape to a room to take refuge. It was then that, according to her version, the attacker went directly towards Ivonne Handal. "When I left the room, I saw that he had attacked her... he had also killed the house's little dog," she narrated with evident consternation. The event has generated a strong wave of outrage and shock in Dominican society, while the authorities continue to advance in the investigation of the case. The hearing to determine coercive measures against Jean Andrés Pumarol is scheduled for Sunday, July 27th.
