Las Terrenas, Samaná. – The mayor of Las Terrenas, Eduardo Esteban, and the provincial director of the Civil Defense, Ramón Liriano, carried out a tour of the municipal facilities this Wednesday after an inundation was detected in the local office of the relief organization, located on the third level of the City Hall.

The incident, which was made public through a video spread on social media, was caused by a breakdown in the building's main bathroom, which caused leaks that affected not only the Civil Defense office, but also other offices, the School of Fine Arts —whose floor is made of wood— and areas of the second and first levels of the building.

For his part, Liriano valued the mayor's quick response: "How good it is to find a mayor who gets involved and who has his ears to the people," he said. The authorities announced that the necessary repairs will be implemented to correct the fault and prevent similar incidents in the future.
