Santo Domingo.– The Ministry of Labor urged employers and workers in Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional and all provinces on red alert to flexibilize their work schedules and postpone non-essential commercial activities, in the face of the rains caused by the tropical wave affecting the country.

The institution urges companies located in areas notified by the Emergency Operations Center (COE) to implement all necessary internal measures to ensure the safety of their employees. A call is made for workdays to be adjusted and non-essential activities to be postponed until the red alert is lifted and workers can safely resume their duties. The Ministry clarified that these measures do not affect the rights, benefits, or prerogatives of the workers and were adopted as a preventive measure in the face of adverse weather conditions forecast for the areas under red alert and those that may be declared in that situation during the passage of the tropical wave.
