Santo Domingo.- The president of the Central Electoral Board (JCE), Román Jáquez Liranzo, informed that the new ID card will be delivered starting in October or November, depending on the month of birth, as long as the entity's work schedule progresses at the current pace.
"The projection is that in October or November, which are preliminary dates, we would begin with the delivery of the new document, remembering that it is for the month of the birthday... If it is in October, the citizens who have birthdays in that month will be summoned," explained Jáquez Liranzo.
In that sense, he warned that it is a preliminary date and the process is scheduled to conclude at the end of 2026.

According to the JCE, this renewal will involve an investment of approximately 6,000 million pesos, allocated to both the hiring of the responsible consortium and the general logistics of the process. The new identity document in the Dominican Republic will be made of polycarbonate plastic with an integrated chip, which will offer greater security and technology, and will be delivered free of charge to citizens.
