Santo Domingo. – The Las Américas International Airport (AILA) activated its security protocols this Tuesday after receiving a threat linked to flight CM299 of Copa Airlines.
The situation was addressed immediately and coordinated by the airport authorities, along with the Specialized Corps for Airport and Civil Aviation Security (CESAC), applying the established procedures for this type of alert.

As part of the preventive measures, two flights were temporarily diverted: JetBlue 590 landed at the Cibao International Airport in Santiago, while United 2404 was redirected to Punta Cana. Both planes were scheduled to arrive at AILA within the next hour. Authorities assured that, after the activation of the corresponding protocols, operations at the airport are proceeding normally and no additional incidents have been reported.
