Santo Domingo.- The Mexican actor, singer, and painter, Fernando Allende, returned to the Dominican Republic where he plans to flirt with bachata and merengue.
"I've gotten this thing about singing a merengue or a bachata. Being able to sing traditional music. I am the son of a Cuban woman and the grandson of a Puerto Rican man, and I was born in Mexico. So I have the Caribbean very much inside me," Allende revealed in an interview conducted by De Último Minuto.Allende, de 72 años, se encuentra en el país para "trabajar algunos proyectos que están en carpeta, desde música, películas hasta un posible concierto en Altos de Chavón", reveló.
Fernando, who has made a crossover as a painter, has promoted this new facet, developing an abstract style called "dynamic", characterized by its vibrant use of color and imagination. He has held exhibitions in places like Puerto Rico, Mexico, Italy, and the United States.

Born in Mexico City on November 10, 1952, Fernando Allende began his artistic career at age 7, singing folk songs and participating in a mariachi band. His acting debut came at age 19 in the film Para servir a usted (1971), and his fame grew with his participation in María (1972), a film adaptation of Jorge Isaacs' novel. Throughout the 70s and 80s, Allende established himself as one of the most beloved heartthrobs of Mexican television, participating in telenovelas such as Corazón salvaje (1977) and María Bonita (1985).
