San Francisco de Macorís.— With an explosive offensive of eight runs in the eighth inning, the Gigantes del Cibao defeated 8-1 the Toros del Este this Tuesday in the first game of the double header, in the continuation of the tournament of the Dominican Baseball League (LIDOM), dedicated to Juan Marichal and in option to the Copa Banreservas.
The loss fell on Steven Moyer (2-3), who worked five innings, allowed two hits and one earned run, struck out four and gave up a home run.

The Colts sealed the victory thanks to doubles by Gary Sánchez, Nomar Mazara and Marco Hernández, who broke the tie and set the definitive course of the match. With the victory, the Giants improved their record to 18-25, raised their home record to 12-10, snapped a streak of five consecutive wins by the Bulls, and secured the head-to-head series against the Romanenses with a 6-2 advantage. In addition, Deyvison De los Santos hit 3-1; Julio Carreras scored a run; and Kelvin Gutiérrez added a run and a walk.
