Dominican Federation of Clubs recognizes the best of the XII Women's Superior Tournament 2025

SANTO DOMINGO, RD. – The Dominican Federation of Clubs (Fedoclubes) held this Thursday the awards ceremony for the XII Women's Superior Basketball Tournament 2025, a contest dedicated to "No Gender Violence", where the most outstanding players and the champion team of the championship were recognized.

The Guachupita Eagles team was crowned champion after sweeping the San Carlos club 3-0 in the final series, in a final agreed to the best of five games (5-3). During the event, they received the Seaboard Cup “Clean Energy”, in a ceremony held in the Juan Ulises García Saleta (Wiche) hall of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD). The trophy presentation was made by Wendy Castillo, executive of Seaboard “Clean Energy”; athlete Mia Liberato, member of the national youth volleyball team; and Ángel De la Cruz, president of the Presidential Commission for Support to Provincial Development. The event was led by Roberto Ramírez, president of Fedoclubes, accompanied by Garibaldy Bautista, president of the COD; as well as by the deputies Olfanny Méndez and Melissa Sánchez, who coordinate the Sports and Youth commissions of the Chamber of Deputies, respectively. Also present were sports leaders such as Augusto Martínez, president of the Santo Domingo Province Sports Union (Udeprosado), and José Esteban Borromé, director of the Dominican Basketball Federation (Fedombal). The cup was received by Zuleyda Monsac, president of the Águilas de Guachupita club; leader Luis Rojas; captain Sugey Monsac, future Immortal of Dominican Sports in basketball; champion coach Edwin Amílcar González Leyba; and the players who are members of the team.

Most outstanding players

On an individual level, Dioribel Rodríguez, from the San Carlos club, was selected as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the regular season. Meanwhile, Mary Coronado, from the Águilas de Guachupita, obtained the MVP award of the final series. Vanessa Bautista, from Las Laguneras de San Cristóbal, led the scoring department, while her teammate Nayeli Morillo topped the assists. In rebounds, the most outstanding was Anaís Villanueva, from San Carlos. Other recognitions included Stacy Vargas, from Las Dinámicas de Los Alcarrizos, as Most Disciplined Player; Dannilys Guerrero, from Las Turistas del Este (El Seibo), as Rookie of the Year; and Miguelina Batista, also from Las Turistas, as leader in stolen balls. Arisleidy Tolentino, from San Carlos, was recognized as Defender of the Year; Leslie Rivera, from the Yamasá Elites, as the best three-point shooter; and Ernesto Rosario (Yeyeo), from the Elites, received the award as Leader of the Year. The award reaffirms Fedoclubes' commitment to promoting and recognizing female talent in national basketball.
