Madrid, May 31 (EFE) - Dominican Valencia Basket point guard Jean Montero was named Movistar MVP of the month of May in the Spanish basketball League, after averaging 16.6 points, 4.6 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 22.4 valuation per game.
This is Montero's third nomination as MVP of the month, after winning his first award in April 2024, with MoraBanc Andorra, and last March as a taronja.
The 20-year-old is already a notable figure in Spanish basketball, who this season has already accumulated the Best Young Player award for the third time, in addition to being part of the Best Quintet of the Endesa League. Montero, who had started the month with 11 points, 9 assists, and 17 valuation credits, climbed positions by averaging 16.6 points per game in just five games, with 100% in free throws (15/15), 55.9% in two-point shots, and 47.6% in three-pointers (10/21).First, he reached a valuation of 22 against Gran Canaria (16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals), raised the bar against Bàsquet Girona (24 valuation, 16 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals), and put the icing on the cake with a transcendental victory on the court of La Laguna Tenerife, where he was able to achieve a valuation of 30, with 24 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals.
