Santo Domingo. — The Dominican government is making significant progress in the construction and remodeling of the sports facilities that will serve as the venue for the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games 2026, with the goal of having nearly 90% of the works ready by December 2025.

Among the main complexes under development are the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center and the Parque del Este, which will concentrate most of the competitions. In the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, the fencing pavilion has already been delivered, with an investment of RD$59,119,534.83. In addition, the volleyball pavilions I and II show progress of 75% and 95%, respectively, while work continues on the baseball stadiums 1, 2 and 3, the softball stadiums A and B, the combat pavilion and the aquatic center, all included in the sports modernization program. In the Parque del Este, the archery pavilion has already been delivered, with an investment of RD$45,527,718.01, while progress is reported in the pavilions of weightlifting (95%), gymnastics (66%) and table tennis (57.83%). Likewise, the handball pavilion and the skating rink are under construction, which will complete the offer of facilities in that area. In parallel, the Government is building the Central American and Caribbean Village, a modern residential complex consisting of 150 buildings of eight apartments each, located in Villa del Este, near Ciudad Juan Bosch. After the conclusion of the Games, the project will be transformed into a set of low-cost housing, providing thousands of Dominican families with the opportunity to access a decent home with special facilities.
