Sports writing (EFE).- Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz managed to win in his debut at the Tokyo tournament, category 500 and played on hard court, against Argentine Sebastian Baez by 6-4 and 6-2 in a match with an eventful first set, in which he had to be treated for a sprained left ankle and which was suspended for about 25 minutes due to rain.

Alcaraz finished the match with his ankle bandaged as a result of a sprain in the first point of the fifth game, a 'minor' injury considering the first impressions it left and that suggested a more serious problem in the calf or even in the tendon. After being attended to by the physiotherapist, he returned to the court, but still had to overcome a new setback, a rain delay of approximately twenty-five minutes when he was serving to close the first set. In the second set, he started by delivering his service in the third game, correcting that deviation in the fourth and taking a 'tie break' in which the American conceded three of his first four serves. Already in the third, neither was able to break until the sudden death, in which Bergs took advantage of the inertia that the initial 4-0 gave him in his favor. He is now awaiting the Belgian Zizou Bergs, ranked 45 in the world, who offered a true display of knowing how to rise to the occasion against the Chilean Alejandro Tabilo. After starting 6-1 down, winning only 17% of the points with his second serve, he was able to forget what happened and throw himself into a relentless battle from that moment on.
