Santiago.- The National Patronage for the Blind, in its Santiago branch, announced its traditional "Afternoon Tea" in its eighth version with the mission of allocating generated resources to the programs: Prevention of blindness, Rehabilitation, Education, Social Assistance and Cataract Surgery.
“Este año desde el Patronato Nacional de Ciegos, nos proponemos realizar alrededor de 80 cirugías para seguir contribuyendo al objetivo principal de la Tarde de Té: operar de cataratas a personas de limitados recursos económicos",
aseguró Sofia de Reyes, presidenta del Patronato Nacional de Ciegos, Santiago.
He indicated that this altruistic action is carried out with collaboration agreements with external ophthalmological centers, and the cost of cataract surgery ranges between RD$35,000.00 and RD$40,000.00 pesos, a cost that we sponsor after a socioeconomic evaluation of the patient.
Reyes maintained that the traditional meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 18, in the party hall of the Centro Español, where Los Frankos will be on stage and this year saxophonist Hissarlik Luciano, Jandy Ventura “El Legado del Caballo" and singer-songwriter Samuel González will join.
