Santo Domingo. – The Academy of Sciences of the Dominican Republic (ACRD) expressed its deep sorrow for the death of the outstanding cardiologist, researcher and academic Dr. Bernardo Defilló, member of the Health Sciences Commission of that institution.
Through a condolence note, the Board of Directors of the Academy highlighted the valuable professional and scientific career of Defilló, who dedicated decades to the practice of medicine, research, and the promotion of scientific knowledge for the benefit of Dominican society.
The renowned specialist was an influential figure in the field of national cardiology, standing out for his contributions to the development of health sciences, as well as for his commitment to the training of professionals and the strengthening of medical research in the country.
The Academy of Sciences expressed its solidarity with the family members, friends, colleagues, and associates of Dr. Defilló, highlighting that his legacy will remain as an example of vocation, excellence, and service.
