Through a statement, the association demands the immediate intervention of the newly appointed provincial director of Sports, Cristian Nin, to prioritize the solution of this critical situation that threatens health and the continuity of sports practice.
The sanitary facilities are in a state of total abandonment, lack electricity, water for regular use, the ceiling panels and slabs are falling.
This unsanitary situation has caused several athletes to stop attending training sessions, becoming a direct threat to the continuity of gymnastics in the province."It looks like a room that has been taken over by rats, cockroaches and other bugs, which represents an imminent danger to the health of our daughters," the parents denounce.

The association emphasizes that the repair is not only urgent for the daily well-being of the athletes, but also because regional events are approaching.
"We understand that Mr. Nin has just taken office, but we trust in his youth and sportsmanship to understand the urgency of the matter. This is not a new issue, but intervention must be immediate. We cannot allow the lack of basic hygiene conditions to put the health of our athletes and the future of this sport in Barahona at risk," concluded the association's spokesperson, Octavio Peña.
